          dding Hubei Province’s capital city to your travel itinerary would make a great decision. This majestic city has                              plenty of draws encompassing trademark icons, mouth-watering food, and wondrous people, making it a worthy place to visit. Let me introduce you to some must-visit locations!

Yellow Crane Tower, located at Huanghelou E Road, Wuchang.

Located on the banks of the Yangtze River in Wuchang district lies the renowned Yellow Crane Tower. This culturally significant landmark offers insight into its history and evolution of the dynasties by exhibiting various themes on different levels of the tower.

 

Ascending the 51.4 metres tall architecture, visitors are rewarded with a panoramic view of the city of Wuhan. Massive bridges and high-rise buildings in the distance coupled with the historical Yangtze river and pavilions in the vicinity display a stark contrast between the old and new of Wuhan.

East Lake, one of the biggest urban lakes in China, is another icon not to be missed. The lake is divided into four areas: Ting Tao, Mo Shan, Luo Yan and Chui Di Scenic Areas.

 

Surrounded by verdant meadows and tranquil lakes, it attracts millions of visitors each year to come and bask in the serenity of the area.

Hailing a cab would be the best option to reach this attraction. Direct the driver to Ting Tao Scenic Area (听涛景区), the scenic area closest to downtown Wuhan.

 

Food

Your trip is not complete without trying the food specialities of Wuhan.

Re Gan Mian

One of Wuhan’s most renowned delicacies, Hot Dry Noodles (热干面), or Re Gan Mian, is a speciality that no tourist of this city should pass on.

Ask any local and it is guaranteed they'll say Cai Lin Ji (蔡林记) serves up the best Re Gan Mian in the city. 

 

There are dozens of Cai Lin Ji outlets in Wuhan. The best one to try is at food mecca, Hubu Alley where you can take the opportunity to try out other specialities of Wuhan while you're at this food street!

 

With its thick consistency, strong hints of sesame and rich flavour, it is a favourite among Wuhan locals and tourists.

Doupi

The layer of Doupi is wrapped in tofu skin that is pan-fried to crisp golden colour, with sticky rice, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and typically pork filled in it.

 

Topped with chopped scallions, this savoury dish has a unique taste like no other.

 

Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, you certainly must not leave Wuhan without trying this renowned street food.

People

Every tourist will certainly witness traits of the strong community bond as they explore this city. If you are looking for one of the most comprehensive experiences, visit the Wuhan Yangtze River Great Bridge, just a short walk from the Yellow Crane Tower.
